At the Animal Hospital of East Davie, we (my staff and I) have been boarding dogs and cats, and grooming since January 2004. After 10 years of growth, we decided to expand our boarding facility and make some “upgrades” to provide a clean, safe, and pleasant area to keep your pet while you are gone away from home. We have collected information from the current trends in daycare and dog boarding, and also health and safety information from the veterinary world in order to build a completely wonderful experience for your pets.
First, we have made a new lobby at the lower end of the parking lot just for boarding, day care and grooming pets. The lobby hours are posted, and are very similar to the hospital hours. Anytime the Davie Dog House lobby is closed and the hospital is open, you can use the hospital lobby to admit your pet. We have added Sunday hours from 2pm - 6pm to pick up AND drop off new boarders if needed.
We have always strived for and will continue to insist upon a clean and healthy experience for your pets. We have strict requirements for vaccination and annual health exams for every dog and cat that stays here.
Leah Lail, one of our technicians, is managing the Davie Dog House for us. Leah, along with all our receptionists, and our ten dedicated kennel staff members will be taking care of your pets while they are here, including doing their playtimes. Please let her know how we are doing!

We have a large, established base of regular "vacationers" and most of the pets know us when they rush in the door. They have to say "Hey" to everyone!
Boarding does not have to be a bad experience for any pet. If one is somewhat timid when coming in, we give them space so that they can have a smooth transition into the kennel environment. We strive to let the pet's be themselves and enjoy their time here at "camp"!
For dogs, we provide mats, fleece beds, cots and quilted bedding. For those that have cats, we have beds, mats, and hiding beds. We have cat condos available which have more room and shelves so that they can get up higher and watch what is going on. These are great for 2 cat households as it provides more room! We have indoor/outdoor runs and all of our boarders are kept in a climate controlled environment.
The kennel has a large, tree shaded, fenced-in yard that provides additional exercise for those of you that wish to have your dog(s) "run in the grass" time.
We also board "senior citizens", those with special needs, and those who have not been socialized or are rescues dealing with issues as well as Rabies Quarantines through Animal Control. We give everyone a chance to relax and just be themselves! |
