Shaker Hill Pet Resort is a safe and clean boarding facility residing on the same campus as the Pittsfield Veterinary Hospital in Pittsfield, MA. Our boarding facility is a member of Pet Care Services.
We have a knowledgeable, friendly staff who care for your furry friends and give them lots of TLC and individual attention. Our staff is here from 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM every day during our regular season, and 6:00 AM - 9:30 PM during the busy Holiday times.
We offer our services for dogs, cats, ferrets, bunnies, birds and the occasional beta fish. Besides normal boarding services we also offer day boarding. Our vaccine requirements for canines include rabies, distemper, and bordetella, for felines: rabies and distemper. Proof of vaccination is required at time of check-in. The Resort is able to accommodate most special needs from a "dog in a cart", to changing diapers, hand feeding, giving insulin or other medications and we especially love our geriatric guests.
Your friend will enjoy their stay in a very loving and quiet facility. Dogs are allowed to run free in our very large, fenced in, yard unless specified by you to leash walk only. Dogs go outside a minimum of 10 minutes at a time and at least 5 times or more per day depending on occupancy. We love to create playgroups of compatible dogs so if you give us permission we can find a suitable buddy for your friend. Playgroups cannot be guaranteed.
In the separate feline wing, cats are encouraged to come out of their five-story condominium to exercise in the playroom. That is if they want to leave the comfort of their cozy bed set up in front of the picture window looking out onto the rolling hills and bird feeders.
We have more than 3,500 sq.ft. of indoor space and more than one acre of completely fenced in yard. We also have a full kitchen to accommodate any special nutritional requirement. Besides our kitchen, we are also equipped with a full laundry room enabling us to maintain our high standard of cleanliness and sanitation. |

Each dog has an individual indoor pen connected to an outdoor run. Fans keep the pets cool in the summer, and radiant heat and overhead units warm in the cool weather. The kennel is cleaned and disinfected daily.
A security perimeter fence completely surrounds the dog boarding facility and TLC exercise yards. The kennel is protected by both fire and burglar alarm systems.
We feed Iams and Eukanuba pet foods. Arrangements can be made for special dietary requirements. Should you be bringing food in from home, we ask that you pack an extra meal or two in case of any travel delays or changes in your plans. If your pet’s diet includes canned food we ask that you bring that along with you.
We do not provide bedding, however, you are welcome to bring in light bedding from home (but please understand, we may need to throw away bedding for safety and sanitary reasons if soiled, because of this we do not recommend bringing a favorite or expensive bed). We also offer Karunda bed rentals for $1.50 per day, which are elevated, cot-like beds. We ask that you not bring toys from home but instead choose from our selection of kennel-safe toys for your pet to use during their stay, free of charge. |
