East Shore Veterinary Hospital |
East Shore has been boarding dogs for more than 50 years! Our facility is unique for its huge outdoor playpens and an on site medical staff able to keep your pet healthy. Our medical staff consisting of veterinarians, technicians, and technician assistants are responsible for administering medications, monitoring animal health, and maintaining cleaning protocols that keep our facility in top shape.
To prepare for boarding we encourage you to stop in and meet our staff, get a tour, and receive the boarding forms. We do require vaccinations, fecal tests, and parasite protection. Your veterinarian can provide all the necessary items before you pet comes to us. When your dog comes in to board with us he will be immediately weighed, flea combed, and micro-chipped scanned. All of our boarders receive a “neckie” to identify them. It is simply a disposable collar that identifies your dog, along with any medical conditions. He or she will then be settled in with fresh water and a blanket. In a very short time he will become familiar to our routine (dogs love routines) of staff coming in and getting out for a bathroom break first thing in the morning. Then its breakfast time, followed by morning play session. Dogs will go in and out throughout the day so they can have periods of rest mixed with periods of play. At the end of the day, things get very quiet in our kennel, as so many of the dogs are tired from their day and getting some rest. Dogs are cleaned up (outdoor play is more fun if you get a little dirty!) and fed dinner. Finally they are given an evening walk and bathroom break. Our staff loves this daily routine with the dogs, sometimes we are not sure who is having more fun, the dogs or the staff!
All of our dogs are leashed up to be taken outside. Not only is this safer than dogs running loose in the building, dogs love it! Dogs get a huge amount of comfort from interacting with a human friends one-on-one. Being leashed up and taken outside is one of the many ways were provide comfort. Once they are in the outside pens they are let off leash and allowed to enjoy the outdoors. |

Animal Hospital of Putnam provides boarding to the public for dogs, cats, birds, and small mammals. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. For our clients, we offer medical boarding for animals who need medications/injections. We also provide the option to have your pet’s medical needs attended to while boarding, including annual examinations, vaccines, and more.
Our pet kennels in Putnam are all indoors, so you can rest assured that your pet will be safe and comfortable for the duration of their stay. All boarded dogs are walked at least three times daily. Cats are housed in a separate area away from dogs.
Our team takes great care to ensure that your pet is tended to the way they would be at home. That means we’ll treat your pet like our own and give them the attention they need. Our goal is to make sure your pet feels relaxed and comfortable as long as they are in our care.

Whether boarding your dog or using our daycare service, each dog will get individual one on one with the staff as well as group play with other dogs once a day included. Every dog has their own indoor and outdoor run. This is where they will sleep and have down time throughout the day. Bedding and bowls are provided. It is our recommendation for you to bring chew toys and a towel or shirt with your scent; if your dog is nervous or for first timers. One group playtime and 1 one on one with staff is included. You can buy Kongs or chew toys here at camp if you forget. |
